Commencement

Commencement Set Wednesday, May 13, 2026
At Mabee Center

Union Public Schools is proud to announce that Commencement for the Class of 2026 will be Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at The Mabee Center on the campus of Oral Roberts University at 7 p.m.

“When talking with former students and current stakeholders, they expressed the need to have one ceremony at a guaranteed time where all students can celebrate their milestone together,” said Jim Douthat, assistant principal of Student Life. “Weather will no longer be a factor, and families can plan their students’ graduation festivities with certainty, allowing us to celebrate as one Union family.”

More details are to follow.

Class Of 2025 Ready To Go Out Into The World

As the Class of 2025 begins their next chapter in the lives, Union Superintendent Dr. John Federline called upon graduates to take “lessons you have learned, the friendships you have made, and the dreams you hold close, and go out into the world with confidence and purpose.”

“Be the changemakers, the innovators, and the leaders that our world so desperately needs,” Federline urged seniors during two Commencements held at the UMAC Sunday, May 18. “Show us through your actions that the future is not something to fear, but something to embrace. With hope in your heart, clarity in your thoughts, and courage in your engagement, you are ready. This is your moment.”

Rainy weather forced Union High School to moved planned graduation ceremonies indoors to the UMAC. Seniors with last named A-K attended the 2 p.m. ceremony and seniors with last names L-Z attended a ceremony at 6 p.m.

Principal Beau Brannon congratulated seniors, saying it was an honor watching them mature over the past several years to become the leaders they are today and expressed confidence that the Class of 2025 will make its mark a positive one as they go out into the world.

Students speakers remarked about the trials and tribulations their class faced – namely the pandemic during the seventh and eight grade years – but how they have persevered, focused on the positive and are ready to make new memories after graduation.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025.
