Tulsa World: Union Football Overwhelmed by Stillwater

Union Football loses 15-41 against Stillwater Friday, September 5.

Union couldn’t pin down Stillwater’s Jaedan Adams all night. But that shouldn’t have been surprising.

As a reigning state wrestling champion, Adams was a tough one to tackle as well, gaining 248 yards on 25 carries to lead No. 3 6AII Stillwater to a 41-15 victory over host No. 4 6AI Union on Friday night at Union-Tuttle Stadium.

Union (0-2) looked strong from the start, scoring just over a minute into the game on a 60-yard TD run by Tay Parry at the 10:59 mark. With a two-point conversion pass from Skyler Moorman to Cain Brackney off the swinging gate formation, Union was up 8-0.

The Redhawks were driving again on their next possession, but the complexion of the game changed completely when C.J. McGhee’s fumble was recovered at the Stillwater 11-yard line. From that point on, the Pioneers went on a 34-0 run, putting the game away early in the fourth quarter. See Tulsa World story.

High school football rankings: Several top-ranked teams remain No. 1 despite losses: Union now ranked 6th.
